Same start line as before for the Sprint but the Try-A-Tri athletes will start closer to T1 on the beach.
A rolling start this time will make for a smoother and steadier flow through transition and out on the roads.
The route will be immediately in front of the beach at Claycastle, after a swim out from the shore you'll be turning left and facing for town to swim parallel to the shore on the second leg. Listen to the briefing for some local knowledge & tips!
The last mark will be the turn for home, which will be clearly marked.
The pipe shown is a rainwater drain from the bog behind the car park
Bike Details: 19km (Same for Try & Sprint)
Same route as last year, it's out and back to Killeagh on the flat and fast N25.
Once out of T1 you'll mount immediately and head out the gate and over the Railway Bridge - a no-race zone for safety.
Down the other side and turning left for Killeagh you're away - Race ON!
Run Details: Try-A-Tri 3K / Sprint 6K
It's onto the boardwalk to begin, then along Front Strand towards town. Cross the road at the old railway station before turning left at Clancy's. Next along MacCurtainstown and up onto the R634 by the tennis courts.
Out to Summerfield Cross and turning left to return to Claycastle - Try-A-Tri athletes are straight into the finish line but for Sprinters it's past Aura Leisure Centre and the Pitch & Putt with a bit of a pull, yep...a second lap of The Strand to get you 6K in all.
The finish line is just inside the barrier at Claycastle, behind the dismount line. Go On - Give it Everything!
